Guided by the foundational roots established by Fr. John Bonal and Mother María Ràfols, we honor a legacy of compassionate hospitality, seeking out those in distress and serving them with love and dignity.
Read Full History
In 1804, a profound journey of compassion began. A courageous group of women, led by our visionary founder Mother María Ràfols alongside Fr. Juan Bonal, dedicated their lives to serving the most vulnerable in society.
Serving as Sisters of Charity, they lived among the sick, the abandoned, and the destitute at the Hospital Real y General de Nuestra Señora de Gracia. Through wars, epidemics, and immense hardship, Mother María Ràfols exemplified a spirit of unwavering love, heroism, and radical hospitality.
"Her legacy established a foundation of compassionate hospitality that continues to guide our congregation across the world today, seeking out those in distress and serving them with supreme dignity."
